We formed a band specifically to play at our Halloween party, consisting of Marc Roulier on guitar, "Dread Lord" Basil White on the Bass, and me on guitar. The drums were programmed into EZ Vision on a Powerbook, driving a digital sampler via MIDI. It worked pretty well for the most part, except that we had the wrong drum track going under a song once, and didn't even notice (because the rhythm was so similar) until it ended too soon! This is me as Groucho Marx, playing guitar.

"Memphistopheles" was a pun on the name of Elvis' and Basil's shared home town. We even had a logo of The King with devil horns.We formed this band expressly to play a party in my basement. That's Steve and Marc on the left and Dread Lord Basil on the right.

The Unprepared was a band we put together to play at a few parties over the course of about a year. This picture was taken in our basement at a party on February 22, 2003. It was our final performance as The Unprepared. Ellen was expecting (Nina was born less than 2 months later) and we weren't going to have time to play in a band for a while.
