Meet The Stevos is now shipping (SOLD OUT).
In an effort
to get the CD out as soon as possible, we elected to order a limited
run of 50 discs done on CD-R with thermal printing on this disc,
complete with 4-page booklet and tray card.
The disc has
the same high sound quality you'd get from a conventional CD.
Listen
to 1-minute audio samples of
the songs from "Meet The Stevos"
We still intend
to eventually release the CD as a conventionally manufactured
item if demand and funding allow (and we'll offer a trade-in program
for those who buy the limited edition!)
July
31, 2005 - An updated version of the Meet The Stevos
CD cover, incorporating Marc's head, is complete (at left), and
we're finalizing a special short-run version of the CD to release
in time for the *BNI reunion show at the end of August.
April
12, 2005 - Mixing is continuing, and there may be some
re-recording of some vocals. In addition, we're working on scheduling
time to do recording of live drums for at least one track [we
ultimately elected not to do this for time reasons, but we did
do the vocals - SD], so release of the CD is being delayed a bit.
We're still expecting to have it completed before the end of the
summer.
March
5, 2005 - Recording and editing has all been finished,
we are now in the process of doing the final mixing. We hope to
have the CD mastered and duplicated within the next couple months.
At that point, it will be available for sale here at stevedockery.com.
Once the final mixes are complete, short (probably 30 seconds)
excerpts of all the songs will be posted here.
Marc
Gets a "Promotion" - This project began as
a solo project, with Steve creating all the songs himself, with
programmed bass, and a few important contributions from others
(thanks, Harrison!). Over time, however, Marc Roulier's role has
increased - he has played bass on all the songs and played the
lead guitar solo on one of them. Since he also created many of
the bass lines, co-wrote one of the songs, and contributed (along
with the other members of *Batteries Not Included) greatly to
the arrangements back in the '80s, and will now be actively involved
in the final mixing process of the CD, we've decided this a no
longer a solo project, but rather a band project.
So, welcome
to "The Stevos", Marc Roulier. (Accordingly, we'll replace
two of my heads on the current cover art with two of his head
- although it might dilute the joke a little bit...) |
